Anyone can set themselves up as a chimney sweep. If you choose an unregistered sweep, you are unlikely to be able to claim on your insurance for any damage caused by a chimney fire. After sweeping your chimney, Paul will issue you with a certificate recognised by all leading insurance companies.

No, Paul uses dust sheets to protect your hearth and carpet. 

Ensure the grate is clear of ash/fuel and move any items out of the way. Make sure it has had a chance to cool and any wood or coal is cleared out before Paul arrives.

It will take approximately 30 minutes, as long as there are no obstructions e.g. a birds nest in the chimney. 

I charge £40 for open fires and £50 for wood/multi-fuel burning stoves and ray burns. These prices are based on straightforward sweep jobs. Any blockages or obstructions to remove from the chimney will incur an extra charge (depending on the severity and time it takes to clear).
